Life is Short

Yesterday, after I had had an argument with my sister, I went outside, with my Bible, and headed to our dock.  I was fuming, to say the least.  I got down there, spread out my blanket, and plopped down, mad about what my sister had said and done.  I started reading in Psalms, and (still thinking about my sister) read about how God will take care of people who hurt you, and how He will handle it.  I still wasn't satisfied.

I took a break and looked up out into the creek that we live on.  It was absolutely beautiful yesterday, with a few trees changing color, and it was stunning.

As I looked at a tree, a leaf fell down to the water. All of a sudden, I heard the clearest voice I have ever heard in my life.  It was like they were right there, whispering in my ear.  It said "Life is short."

I have no doubt that it was God talking to me.  I do not remember ever hearing directly from God like that, but it was amazing.  I have to say, I was scared because it was so close like that.  I got up from my blanket, and headed inside, still contemplating on what I had heard.

Then, I realized something.  God was telling me that even though my sister had been mean to me, and I had been mean to her, to forgive her for what she had done, because life is short.

So, today, think about that.  LIFE IS SHORT!  Forgive, forget, and move on.  This is the hardest thing for me to do, because I HATE giving in.  But, is it worth it to be stubborn?  God forgave you, didn't He?  Why can't we return the favor and forgive His children?

Thanksgiving 2012

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  We had a wonderful day yesterday, and today we got our Christmas tree.  I hope you all enjoy the pictures!

I was SO full!
Then, my Uncle Jon took me and Mary Black Friday shopping!  He's amazing!

Every year, on the day after Thanksgiving, we get our Christmas tree.  95% of the time, the tree finally gets in the house a week later, but it's still fun to get it(:

The perfect tree!

Emma, Mary, me, and our friend Julia, who is staying with us for a while
We went on a train that took a tour of the tree farm.  That was one of the most embarrassing things I've ever done!  We were the only teenagers on the ride!

I hope your Thanksgiving was as wonderful as mine!  I am so thankful for all that God has given me!

Canada 2012

Hi everyone!

I'm back!!!  Finally.  I know, I've been gone too long.  It feels so good to be home!  I'm going to tell y'all about my trip, and add a *few* pictures(:

We ended up deciding on driving, so it took us around three days to get there.  We had a few problems (dead car battery), but had a good trip overall.  My Dad asked us to take our old dog, Flirt, because she slowed him down a lot, so we took Thicket, Fraulein, and Flirt with us.

We got to our house, and settled in.

Our home for the 4 weeks!
I know you all remember our old dog, Flirt. She always loves to wander around, and so we let her go free.  I mean, a 15 year old dog, who's never ran away, running away???  That's pretty unlikely.  Well...... one day, Flirt didn't come back. We started to worry, and it got super cold that night.  We were sure that God must have known that she was getting sick, and sent her away.  I was crying, and it was terrible!  We told our friends about it, and they said that they would get the 'neighborhood' looking for her *sidenote* WE HAD NO NEIGHBORS!  lol We were thirty minutes away from town! *end sidenote*  God performed a miracle.  We got a call that someone think they found our dog.  What ended up happening is that Flirt had wandered to the road, and someone thought she was lost, so the picked her up and took her to another person's house because they were going out of town.  Once word got around that a yellow lab was missing, it was pretty obvious who's it was- the Americans who didn't know how to watch their dogs!  lol (:  We wondered why no body had called us, because Flirt's collar had our name and number on it. Turns out that the nametag fell of without us knowing.  So, it is really a miracle that she is still 'alive and kicking!'
Mama Dog after she came home.
My Dad came and brought our other 7 dogs up.  They all had a lot of fun hunting(:
Willow (Wille Mae) out hunting.

IT SNOWED!  We spent hours outside, and I made a snowman/woman. It took me at least thirty minutes to get the snow to stick!
My little snow woman.

Out driving.

One of the pretty pieces of land

So gorgeous

My Dad's good friend came up to hunt too.  Mr. Ben is a mess!  But, we had tons of fun with him

The scenery is absolutely gorgeous in Canada!
An abandoned mansion.

Such beautiful land.

We met a lot of new friends this year at a coffee shop that we went to. Mr. Mike, Mr. Vince, and Mr. Ronnie had so many stories to tell, and were so very sweet.

Hanging out at the coffee shop.

We found out that Mr. Mike played to violin, so we set up a 'jam' session(:
Can you believe that he is 83?????

After four weeks of having an amazing time going to volleyball games, hockey games, fall suppers, coffee shops, shopping, spending time with friends, and just having a good time, we had to go.  A snowstorm was hitting the part of Canada that we were in, so we had to get out, plus we just needed to leave anyways(;

We decided to make a *little* detour to see Mt. Rushmore.  It was about 8 hours out of our way, but it was so worth it.  The morning we were going to see it, it was SO foggy.  You couldn't see twenty feet in front of you.  We were like "Surely God didn't bring us all this way just to have us turn around!  Please Lord, let us be able to see it*.  When we got there, we were walking up the breezeway, and behind us was completely foggy.  But, look what the Lord did just for us(:

You guys, absolutely no fog.  God is so amazing.

Look what was RIGHT behind us!
The whole memorial is so great.  We went on a presidential trail, where you can go right to the foot of the mountain.
Gorgeous
Amazing

A little peephole in the rock.

This is one of my favorite views of the mountain.
So pretty.

Us girls at Mt. Rushmore.
Y'all, it was still foggy when we left!  It was just the mountain that was clear!

South Dakota doesn't have much, but does have a lot of pretty sights.

I love the cows!

God's Handiwork!

No words! So beautiful.
That night, we ended up driving all the way to Joplin, Missouri.  We got to the hotel around 3:30AM, and slept till 8:00AM.  Needless to say, we all were not very joyful the next day, until......

AHHHH! The Duggar's home!  We had seen it on a previous trip, and decided to stop and take pictures again.  SO AMAZING!  I wish we could have met them, but getting to see their house is pretty cool, too(:

The Ozarks in Arkansas

The Ozarks.

Amazing!  I love to see the colors change!

At the moment, a friend from Austria is staying with us.  Julia is super sweet.

Believe or not, I have a few more pictures, so enjoy these for now!

I'm so glad to be home with you guys!

Grace
