Some Changes

As you read in the post title, there are going to be some changes around here.  First off, I think I am going to take a little two/three week break.  I feel as though I need to get right with God on a few things, and then post what I am feeling on my heart.  Sometimes, I feel as though I am trying to encourage you girls by saying {or posting(:} one thing, but then on the other hand I can't even do that specific thing myself!

So, in the mean time, I will still be checking my email if anyone has any questions or thoughts.  For now, I wish all of you girls a wonderful week, and I will see you soon.

One Skirt, Three Days, Three Bloggers {Day One!}

Here are my pictures for the challenge!  I am going to a 70's swing dancing party tonight, so I am going to have to change, but here is my outfit!  I chose this skirt because it is easy to pair with anything.  I made it out of a pair of jeans.  Because I wanted it longer, I had to buy another pair of jeans to put underneath.  It is SO not perfect, but I love it!

Shirt- Banana Republic hand-me-down.  Cami- Aeropostle hand-me-down.  Skirt- made by me

Pups Have Left

The puppies left this morning):  let's just say when we said good bye last night {they left before seven this morning} it was not a very pretty site.  I cried, and cried, and cried, and CRIED!  I was doing okay taking pictures with them, until I got to my favorite, T-Man.  He is the one that I tore the sack off when he came out, and clamped his cord.  He is my BABY!!  I started crying really hard, so explains the last picture when my face was really red! ):

And last, but CERTAINLY not least, T-Man.  You see my face... I had just paused my crying to take the picture!

Your prayers would be appreciated during this time of loneliness):

Be Praying for Me

Tomorrow is my oral surgery.  It's not a big deal, but I am very nervous about it.  Please keep me in your prayers tomorrow.  It would be VERY appreciated!

Your Sister in Christ,

A Long Way Home

I often feel that in my dance class, I am... not exactly bullied, but a toned down version of that.  Today, the 'popular' thing was to say "Grace!  Your too far forward" or "Grace!!  Move over a little so that people can see me!".  Personally, I am a very sensitive person, so anything anybody says or does really effects me.  In our dance class, we are really stressed trying to get our dance cleaned up for our Showcase performance in about five weeks.  I am already trying to do everything right, when I have one girl that keeps nagging me for the littlest thing that I do wrong!

On the way home tonight, I was down in the dumps.  Just poor, poor Grace.

Then this song came on our radio:

"He said there's going to be some mountains to climb,
and some valley's your going to go through.
But, I had no way of knowing
just how hard this journey could be,
 because the valley's are deeper
and the mountains are steeper than I ever would have dreamed.

But I know we're going to make it.
I know we're going to get there soon.
 I won't turn back
even if the whole world says I'm going the wrong way.

It's just a long way home."

God sord of said "Grace.  This isn't your home.  Don't get down in the dumps about one little thing that bugs you.  I already told you that there ARE going to be mountains and valley's your going to go through.  But, I am there with you the whole time!"

It is so amazing how God brings us to a place of discouragement and sadness, and shows us just how much we do need Him.

We are just taking the long way home(:

Your Sister in Christ,

"I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

-John 16:33

Spring Blog Party!

I am doing a spring blog party over at Grace Anna's blog, so you girls need to go and link-up!

Introduce yourself a little bit for those dropping by from the link up...
My name is Grace, and I'm 13{almost 14.....}.  I live in the southern part of the United States, and love it!  Presently, I have 17 dogs, and one cat.  8 of the dogs are puppies, and they are the the sweetest thing!  I love to play my violin, blog, and live for Jesus Christ!  When I get older, I want to be a professional violinist and nurse.  I have 2 sisters named Emma and Mary, and they are amazing!

Maybe share a picture of yourself? (optional)

What are your favorite colors to wear during the spring?
Definitely pinks, yellows, and light blues.

 Favorite accessories to wear?

 Earrings, and necklaces.

Hats? What's your opinions of them? What style do you like best? Are baseball caps unfeminine?

I love hats!  Even though I don't own any, I think they look great!  I love the big floppy ones; they are great for sunny days.  Baseball caps.... they can be unfeminine, but there are pretty ones nowadays that are more feminine and pretty.

Where you live, what are the first signs that Spring is coming?

The flowers blooming, pollen covering the porches, and the warm weather.

What is a normal Spring activity in your house?

SPRING CLEANING!  Our family likes to get rid of things that are too small, rearrange our rooms, and get everything looking nice and springy!

What are you looking forward to this upcoming Spring/Summer?

This summer I am going to a dance intensive for four weeks, so I'm pretty excited about that.  But, I love going out in our boat and swimming, too.

Are you planning on taking any trips?

We might go somewhere right after my birthday in August, but we're not sure where yet.

Will you be involved in some sort of volunteer work this year?

Not quite sure yet.  I hope to be!

Do you plan on doing something different this year than in 2011?

I am memorizing 1st Peter, which is something I didn't do in 2011.  I am praying about not doing dance, which is a big thing for me.

If you were driving a convertible on a breezy, warm day what music would be playing on your radio?

"Long Way Home" by Stephen Curtis Chapman.

Is there any book or movies you want to read/see this spring/summer?

I want to read "It's (not that) Complicated", by Anna Sofia and Elizabeth Botkin really badly.  Oh, and I really want to see October Baby.

Complete this sentence...please. "A Spring day is perfect with--"

Lemonade, a slight breeze and an picnic(:

Have you turned on your AC yet?

Oh goodness!  It's been on since January!

What smell brings past spring memories to you?

The smell of flowers remind me of last years beautiful spring, and then when we went to Callaway Gardens this year, it was beautiful, and all the flowers at our house are reminding me of that.

During the warmer months of the year, do you tend to hole yourself up inside, or get out and enjoy the weather?

I want to get out and enjoy the weather, but it's hard with school and stuff.  But, I can't wait for a free day!
Please, take a look around our Etsy shops. Is there anyway we can improve to make our shops stand out and make a better appeal?

Nope!  I don't think so!

In marketing- do you think it is important for a blog and Etsy to, somewhat, match?

I think so.

Like blog buttons, would you share a button linked to an Etsy shop that you like?

I probably would, if it was a shop that I really liked.

Yay!  Finished!(:

If you would like to enter the link-up, go here.

Your Sister in Christ,

My New Bike!

Remember the bike that I told you I wanted here?  Well, my lovely Daddy knew that I needed a new bike, and that I needed one I could ride comfortably in a skirt.  We {my daddy and I} were sitting at our kitchen table one night.  He told me that he had a surprise for me.... look what he brought in.......

I'm so thankful for this bike and my wonderful Daddy!(:

My Heart Problem

I might have told y'all this before, but I have a little heart palpitation called SVT- Supra Ventricular Tachycardia.  Believe me, it's not as bad as it sounds.  It is just where my heart beats really fast compared to normal.  There is no threats or anything to it.  It all started when I was about nine years old.  I was at volleyball practice and we were warming up.  All of a sudden, my heart starts beating SUPPPER fast.  My Mama, who was sitting in on the practice is a nurse, and she couldn't count it.  It went on like that for about 2 hours before we went to the ER.  By then, it had slowed down, and I didn't have any symptoms.  Then, they started getting closer together, where I was having an episode once a month, or maybe every few weeks.  We decided to put me on a medication called Atenolol.  It helped a lot, but I really didn't want to be on medicine my whole life, so I started to wean myself off of it.  I had been doing very well- not having an episode since last November or December. But, as I type, I'm having one.  It's not as bad- about 100 beats a minute.  I used to have episodes where it was over 200, but I'm very thankful it has gone down.  The weird thing about this is that I don't do anything!  I can be sitting down and move to another position, and BAM.  There starts an episode.    Typing on here helps me to take my mind off of it for a little while, which calms me down, making my heart slow down.

When I turn 15, I will most likely have to have a surgery, which goes in with a laser, and zaps my heart in the places where it is making me have these episodes.  I inherited this from my Dad.  He has Afib, which is where his heart beats in weird rhythms.  He got to have the procedure about 5 years ago, and has only had a handful of episodes since then.

So, hopefully this little episode will go away soon, and... won't come back!(:

Your Sister in Christ,

Don't Wait

My MawMaw{my mother's mother's mother} died when I was around one year old.  My Mom and I were just sitting at the table talking about her.  Here is what she said

"When Granny was in the hospital, I remember thinking one day 'Is she a Christian?'.  I called her hospital room later that night, and started talking to her, and asking her questions.  'Granny, when did you get saved?' and 'When were you baptized?'.  Granny replied 'Oh, I'll never forget that day.....'.  I remember having a burden lifted off of me once I realized that yes, she was a Christian.  'I'm going to come and see you tomorrow Granny'.  'Well, okay.  I'll see you then."

When I got there the next day, something had happened to Granny.  She could no longer talk.  I was really sad that the night before was the last time I would hear her talk, but happy that I knew she was a Christian."

A few days later, MawMaw went to be with Jesus.

"Right before she died, everyone was sitting around in her hospital room.  I felt God calling me to go and talk to her.  I lifted her oxygen mask off, and said 'Granny, it's okay.  You don't have to stay here with us. '  Granny took three more breathes, and died."

I learned something from Mama tonight.  If God is calling you to do something, don't wait.  Go and do it right then, because you might not have a chance later.

Your Sister in Christ,

Good News.....& Bad News

I got my braces tightened today....

I don't think anything can describe what the pain feels like!  Butt, that means I am one step closer to getting them off.

Good News:

We are in the process of sponsoring Mwende, a little girl from Kenya through Compassion International.  At first, my youth group sponsored her.  I eventually had to stop going to youth group, but I thought everything was okay.
My Mama just messaged our youth pastor's wife, and asked if I could still write to her.  She said that the youth group had slacked on the payments, and that they had come to the decision to stop sponsoring her.

I COULD NOT let that happen.  I asked my parents, and now we are going to be sponsoring her every month.  She is so sweet, and I would hate to let anything bad happen to her.

Bad News:

Remember that surgery I told you about here?  Well, that is scheduled for next Thursday.....

I am SOOO nervous!

But, my dentist talked to me today, and said that it is no big deal.  He is going to give me a pill, numb my mouth, and give me laughing gas.  I've never had that before, so hopefully I will just fall asleep!

Please keep me in your prayers for next Thursday.  I know that I am in good hands, but it is still nerve racking.

My Photo Challenge Entry

I heard about this photo challenge from one of my blogger friends, Kathryn {You can check out her blog here}

Here is my photo entry:

You girls need to go and enter!

In Christ,

My Handsome Boy(:

This is a picture of me and my buddy, T-man.  He is the sweetest thing.  {Sorry about the awful hairdo.  It was a Saturday, and I really don't care how I look on those days!}

Your Sister in Christ,

Modesty Video

I found this a while back, and it really touched me.  The video is a little long, but it's worth every minute.

Have a fantastic week!

In Christ,

Easter Sunday- He is Risen!

We had such a nice Easter yesterday.  Our family decided to go and visit my violin teacher's church for their service.  She is the organist, and is AMAZING!  Mrs.Lizanne is 77 and still playing in her church.  It was wonderful to watch and listen to her praise the Lord through music.
The church was packed!  They had to have 3 services- Each having over 300 people.  It is a Methodist church nestled 30 minutes away from us.  The whole service was beautiful.  After church we headed over to our favorite restaurant  that is five minutes from our house.  We have become good friends with the chef, and yesterday was his last day. ): Once we got home, my Mama, my little sister Emma and I all headed to the store to get some items we needed for Easter dinner.  We had a wonderful ham, potato salad, rolls, peas, and a chocolate pecan pie and pumpkin pie.  Let's just say I gained around 10 pounds last night(:

We have a man from North Carolina working on our boat right now, and sadly he couldn't make it home for Easter to be with his daughter.  So, instead we invited Mr. Tim to come and have dinner with us along with my grandparents.  I think he had a lot of fun.

Here are a few pictures from yesterday.  I wore the same Liesel dress that I told you about here.

1 Peter 1:3
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead...

Early Morning

Right now, it's about 5:55AM in the South.  Believe me, I do not want to be awake right now.  One of our puppies came to sleep in my bed last night.  Let's just say she will NEVER be back again.  After peeing in my bed, peeing on the floor, pooping on the floor, and biting my fingers and hands constantly last night, Minnie lost my trust(:

I have plenty to do, though.  I have to finish writing a research paper for my IEW class on the Holocaust...... My first research paper ever!  I hope my brain isn't still asleep...

Have a lovely Saturday!

Your Sister in Christ,

This past week has been absolutely CRAZY!

First of all, remember where I posted about the Father and Daughter Retreat here?  Well, that weekend, we had a really bad storm in our area.  After we had left, my Mama was upstairs, and heard thunder.  She said it felt like the WHOLE HOUSE moved, and she was waiting for it to fall into pieces!  It didn't {thankfully}, and she was okay.  But, later at lunch she went to watch her favorite channel, HGTV, and the TV wouldn't come on.  Weird.....

So, she went into the living room....

Same response.

Nothing would turn them on.

A week later.....

We found out that one of our satellite boxes was hit by lightning, along with two of our 3 year old TVs.  Yeah.....

Shortly after that, we realized that our irrigation system was hit by lighting too.

We have to replace that.

So, after lighting hitting two TV's, a satellite box, and irrigation system

Mama's Birthday Video

I had this idea for my Mama last night before I went to bed {I know, I'm a procrastinator(:}.  It's not NEAR perfect, but I hope you enjoy it.

Happy Birthday Mama!

Please play the video below BEFORE starting the one that I made.  We don't have any music on the laptop that I was working on, so you'll have to play this one.

Your Sister in Christ,

Happy Birthday Mama!

Today is my wonderful Mama's birthday!  It is her "20th" birthday!  I am so thankful for her and don't know where I would be without her.  She is AMAZING!

You're jealous(:

I love you so much Mama, and I hope you have an amazing day

Happy Birthday Mama!

Your Daughter,
