May our Daughters be like Graceful Pillers....

The Bible says in Psalms 144:12 for us daughters to be like graceful pillars that are specifically made to beautify a palace.  Some of us(including me), love Jesus and want to serve Him, but sord of get side tracked with the things of this world.  For instance, I know that there have been plenty of times that I watched a TV show when I wasn't supposed to, or maybe could have been nicer to my siblings.  Every time that I go and apologize to God for sinning against Him and my sisters, I always think "I'll never do that again.".  But, I've noticed that I have been repeating my sins instead of repenting.  I know that I need to change, and I am determined to do that.  Thankfully, Jesus forgives us, and even if we have messed up 3 million times, He always forgives us.  And the thing that is amazing to me is that He helps us to get out of the bog that we are in.  "Rescue me from the mud; don't let me sink any deeper!  Save me from those who hate me, and pull me from these deep waters." Psalms 69:14.

So today, I encourage you not to be bogged down in sin, but to be like graceful pillars that glorify Jesus Christ.

A Quick Update

I wanted to update all of you guys on what's happening around here!  First of all, our Springer Spaniel, Thicket, is officially pregnant with her first litter of puppies!  They are due around the 5th of February!  I am so excited.

Secondly, when I went to the dentist last week, and I had to get a panoramic X-Ray.  It shows that my eye tooth is still a baby tooth, and the permanent eye tooth is still up in the palette of my mouth, meaning I have to have MINOR ORAL SURGERY to open up the palette of my mouth to bring the tooth down!  To top that off, I have to get braces, too!  I have always wanted braces, but I never thought I would have to get them!  My appt. is this Monday to molds for my teeth.

That's pretty much all that's going on around here.  As soon as I get my braces, I will post a picture!

So Many Things...

So many things have happened this year- good and bad. First, we had our bundles of joy- our English Pointer puppies born January 5th, 2011. It has been so much fun to watch them grow, and how they are all so sweet and excellent hunters.

Secondly, my Dad sold his company that he started. He had started it when I was a baby, and owned and kept it running until I was 13. The men from this company approached Daddy, and Daddy eventually sold it to them. So far, everything has gone well!

We also had unexpected deaths this year. One of my Mom's good friend's sister died of a massive heart attack. She was only 35 years old and had five daughters. Before then, my Dad's good employee died of a heart attack-he was only 42.

Us girls went on a road trip this summer to Minnesota. It was so much fun! In all, it was about 2,794 miles that my Mama drove by herself! It took about two days to get there, driving 12 hours a day.

We celebrated a lot of birthdays this year. My dog Flirt turned 14 last June, and she is still very happy, even though she might be a little stiff. My sisters Mary and Emma turned 15 and 8! Time goes by so fast.

I also made the decision to wear skirts and dresses. It took a lot of courage for me to tell my parents that this is what I want to do. The Lord has provided for me in so many ways, with friends that don't look down on me, to finding cheap, good quality skirts.

Last but not least, we had two girls come over on New Year's Eve, and we had tons of fun with them. We stayed up until about 3:30AM, and got up at 9:30. Also, this past year, my New Year's Resolution for 2011 was to drink no caffeine for a year. I achieved that, and last night I had a big bottle of Coca-Cola that I got to drink for the first time since last year. It was a little hard, especially because I LOVE sweet tea, and that is really a staple in the South, and I wasn't able to have any. But, all in all, it was really good for my body to have to caffeine.

One more thing. I have decided to make my verse for this year Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. It always is so comforting to know that even though sorrows might be raining down on you, God sends your blessings through those raindrops, and knowing that He plans everything, and everything is for our good just shows how caring and loving He is.

I hope that you have a wonderful and prosperous year, and God bless you!

New Year's Resolutions 2012

Wow! That's all I can really say. 2011 is over, and 2012 has begun. Time goes by too fast. Here are my New Year's Resolutions.

1. To keep my room clean.

2. To read my Bible every day, and grow closer to God.

3. To complete the 1st Peter challenge(in my sidebar)

4. To learn to develop a servant's heart

5. To pray for a slow reacting temper

6. To show love to my enemies

7. To stay on top of my school work and homework

8. To spread the love of Jesus at every opportunity

9. To not have any secular music on my phone so I have no temptation.  I know I will probably still be listening to it because of our dance studio and stuff, but if I have the choice, I will not be listening to it.

10. To have a modest heart around boys. Something that I struggle with every day! But if I pray and try hard, the good Lord will help me.

I think that this is it!
