Youth Worship

Hi everyone!

We have been having a really nice week so far at our house. At the kennel today, I think we bathed about 7 dogs! Since it was Memorial Day weekend, they were full of dogs! It is a lot of fun seeing and 'talking' to the dogs!:)

I love our church and youth group. Our worship pastor, Aaron, has a lot on his plate. He is the assistant manager at where he works, and he also does worship on Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday at youth. He said it has been a little bit too much for him, so he asked if anyone in our youth group would step up(if they felt like God was calling them to) and do worship on Thursday for the group. We all prayed about it, at at the time, I felt something, but God had to make it happen; I wasn't going to volunteer.

Mary finally said that she felt something, so she was going to do it with our friend Daniel. Daniel is a REALLY good singer and guitar player, but he is going through a voice change(: and he can't sing at the moment. Aaron's last Thursday was last week, so someone had to do worship. Oh, and did I mention Daniel is not going to be able to come this Thursday? Mary didn't want to do it by herself, so now Mary, my youth pastor's wife Kristine, and me are doing worship.

haha.... long story, huh? It is amazing how God works through.

Please be praying this Thursday around 7:15 for us!

Kennel Job!

We started our job at Popie's last week, and it went really well! All of the dogs were really cute! The only thing is that I came home with a few scratches(: but it was fun! We work on Tuesday's and Wednesday's from 7:00 to 5:00. Yes, I don't get up usually until 7:30, and so it is a big change! LOL

Summer Job

This year for the summer, my sister and I wanted to make a little bit of extra money. My grandfather owns a dog kennel about 10 minutes from us. We asked my Popie if we could work this summer at the kennel. He said yes, so now we have a summer job!! We will work every Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:00 to 5:00.(:

Long time

I am so sorry I haven't posted in a long time! Dance Recital was this weekend, and we had a full week last week. But, I am happy to be finished with dance, and I have the whole summer ahead of me.

But, I would like to ask you a question. My Mom, sisters and I were thinking of opening an Etsy Shop on my Mom's blog, and now that we are doing it, we can't think of any cute sewing names. Please comment and tell me what you think a good name would be!

Thank you!

The History of Femininity

I have been wanting to do a long, in-depth post for a while now, so I decided to research the history of femininity, and when things started changing for the worst.

First of all, as you all know, Eve was the first woman to walk this earth. What most women think is that they are equal to men, but we aren't. It says in the Bible that Adam was made before Eve . We shouldn't do some of the same jobs that men do. Women were made to be a help meet to there husbands. That our calling. Now, some women will never get married, and that is fine. God just has it in His perfect plan for them not to get married. But, if you do get married, that is your natural calling.

Now, what did women wear? Well, first, the Bible says that women "......should NEVER dress like men. For this is detestable in the LORD'S sight.."(Deuteronomy 22:5) Men in ancient Egypt usually wore a wrap around the waist, and women wore dresses. The cloth was made from flax. Then, in the Middle Ages, the women's clothing was made all the way to completely cover their neck and body. In the 1800's, women wore dresses that usually had a high waist line.

Through the centuries, you never see women wear pants. It is distinctively feminine to wear skirts or dresses. When jeans started coming out, the men primarily wore them for boat work, such as cleaning decks or washing down the boat. Then women started wearing them to seem more masculine (in my opinion). The youth and children started wearing them, and they were actually taken as youth rebellion, and in many places, banned because of that.

The Feminist movement actually started in 1898. Women wanted the same rights as men, and wanted their voice to be heard in political acts. The definition of Feminism is the doctrine of advocating social, political, and all other rights of women equal to men.

I hope this post has inspired you!

Feeling Feminine Day 7

Last day): I had a lot of fun this week wearing skirts. I normally, do not wear skirts on a regular basis, but I think I will start wearing them more regularly. I also had fun fixing my hair differently each day. It is so encouraging to have a lot of other, like-minded girls be doing the same thing. Thank you to everyone that left such precious comments. It really makes my day.

Sadly, my camera isn't wanting to download pictures to the computer, but I will defiantly add them later.

Homemade Pizza!

Last night for dinner, we had our own homemade pizza! It was really good. We made the crust from the dough we had from the bread we made. My Mother gets heartburn from tomatos very easily, so we had two pizzas: one with tomato sauce, and one with homemade alfredo sauce. They were SOOOO good! Here is a picture of the alfredo pizza.

Bread Making

I personally LOVE Fridays. It is our only full day at home. We try to get a lot done, too on this day.

Awhile back, my Mother went to a bread making class, and was really inspired. So, she ordered some materials, and they came in last night. We started making bread today. It is so cool to know that you actually ground the wheat, and made the bread yourself. It was a lot of fun and really easy. Our family has been on a sugar and wheat free diet for about a month now. It was VERY nice to have bread back now.
Here are some pics(PS-posting some pictures tomorrow on what we had for dinner! mmm DELICIOUS!!!)

Starting to roll it out after we ground the wheat and mixed everything.

Just after it rose in the oven. You can't imagine the happiness we felt right then! It is finished! Mine is on the right and my Mothers is on the left. "And so give us this day our daily bread" Emma really enjoyed it!

Hopefully everyone had a good Wednesday. I did. The only bad thing was our puppy Menzie was trying to get my attention while I was at the kennel this morning. He kept jumping up on me, and finally, he ripped my pajama pants! Poor boy! haha(: Here is my pics for today. I have my hair in a french twist.
